Why I Started This Work
Hi, I'm Kathy Dailey, founder of Stories Remembered.
My love for storytelling began with my own family. I created life story books for my mother and my mother-in-law—gathering their memories through interviews, weaving in photos, and preserving stories that might otherwise have been lost. Watching their joy as they held their finished books made something very clear to me: this work matters.
I've always been passionate about genealogy, family history, and meaningful connection. But more than dates and facts, I believe in preserving the heart of a life—the stories, lessons, humor, challenges, and love that define us.
Stories Remembered was created to make this process easy, comfortable, and deeply meaningful. You don't need to be a writer. You just need a story—and everyone has one worth telling.
My mission is simple: To help people get their stories in the hands of as many loved ones as possible so their stories will live on for many generations to come.
Four Ways to Preserve a Life Story
Every family comes to this with a different budget, timeline, and sense of urgency. That's why Stories Remembered offers four ways to work together—depending on what matters most to you. Every project starts with the same thing: guided interviews with your loved one.
Preserve the voice, before it's gone.
Families who mainly want their loved one's stories and voice captured now, without committing to a written book yet. Ideal when time is short or budget is tight.
Interviews can begin within 1–2 weeks; delivery within days of the final session.
A story you can actually sit down and read.
Families who want the story to read like a story—not just a transcript—but don't need photos, design, or a printed book right now. Easy to upgrade to a printed book later using the same interviews.
6–10 weeks after final interview.
A keepsake, without the photo project.
Families who want a real printed heirloom book but don't want to take on the work of gathering, scanning, and organizing a large photo collection.
2–3 months after final interview.
The complete heirloom experience.
Families who want the full heirloom experience—a beautifully designed book with photos woven throughout the story, built to last generations.
4–6+ months, depending on length and photo count.
Every project starts with a conversation. We'll talk through your family's story, your budget, and your timeline, and I'll recommend the right starting point—with the option to move to a deeper tier later without redoing any interviews already completed.
The depth and length of our conversations—from focused sessions to extensive life story exploration.
The number of photos, level of curation, and complexity of the book's layout and design.
Physical dimensions, page count, and customization elements like timelines or family trees.
Want to share this treasure with the whole family? Additional copies are available at cost, typically $5–$60 each depending on size and format. I'll provide you with a private link to order as many copies as you'd like directly from the printer.
Let's talk about your story. During a free consultation, we'll discuss your vision, answer your questions, and I'll recommend the tier that fits your family best.
Schedule Your Free ConsultationNo obligation, no pressure—just an honest conversation about preserving the story that matters most to you.

A Simple, Thoughtful Process
We talk about your goals and the kind of book you envision.
Conversations are relaxed, engaging, and designed to bring memories naturally to the surface. I prefer to do them in person, but video or phone are fine too.
Interviews are transcribed, edited, and shaped into a clear, engaging story. You have the ability to check and edit the text before the book is designed.
You provide photos and your preference for where they should occur, then photos and text are combined into a beautifully designed, completely custom book.
You receive a finished keepsake book ready to be shared and treasured. Additional copies are available at cost directly from the printer.
